The demographic profile of Facebook visitors:

The biggest percentage of Facebook visitors comes from ‘18-24’ age group.

For the month of February 2008 this age group accounted for 29 percent of Facebook traffic.


The Age groups and the respective traffic share:

18-24__________________________ 29 percent
45-54__________________________17 percent
55 and older_____________________ 9 percent


Growth in the traffic for various Age groups in the month of Feb 2009:

18-24_________________________ Remained the same
45-54_________________________ Showed growth
55 and older____________________ Showed growth


Users are prolonging their stay on Facebook site:

In the past one year, the visitors are spending 6 percent more time on Facebook site.

MySpace’s loss is Facebook’s gain

For Facebook, Growth in the Age 35 and older group in the past one year (Feb 2008 –Feb 2009): ______23 percent

While For Facebook 'Age 35 and older' saw a 23 percent growth in the past one year; MySpace saw a decline of 2 percent in the said group during the same period.
