It includes several TV series and movies, including Netflix’s self-produced original content such as Orange is The New Black, Narcos and the recently released The Crown. The company says that more shows will be made available soon.

Now people can watch their favorite shows on airplanes and other places where internet access is either limited or very expensive. Video download feature will be provided to users at no additional cost. This service will be included with their existing monthly subscription fees. Although additional fee will be charged for the service, but this will be a major help for some of the very awkward places. A party where you feel like someone all alone.

NetFlix has many rivals on Live streaming front!

Netflix is fiercely competing with streaming rival Amazon, as well as traditional broadcasters which are now making in-roads into “over the top” streaming services.

Netflix has hit shows like Stranger Things, Kevin Spacey’s House of Cards and Tina Fey’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, while Amazon has produced shows like Transparent, Alpha House, The Man in the High Castle and the recent release of The Grand Tour -- a Top Gear-like show from Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.

Amazon’s service has been offering offline viewing for a while through its Amazon Instant Video app for iOS and Android.

4 out of 10 photos uploaded to Twitter come from iOS devices
If you remember, Twitter CEO last month said how the twitter integration in iOS5 helped Twitter increase its new user signups three folds.

It appears, Apple benefited from ist association with Twitter as well.

According to Apple Insider, courtesy a study released yesterday:

1) Apple's handheld devices now account for more than 39% of the photos(2 out of 5 tweeted photos) being posted on Twitter's social networking service, with Twitter-integrated built-in apps helping iOS 5 become one of its top 10 sharing clients. Apple's own Photo and Camera apps in iOS 5 already account for 5 percent of all photo uploads to Twitter, making it the seventh largest client on the network.

The iOS's share was comprised of a combination of Twitter's iPhone app, Instagram and iOS 5's built-in Photo and Camera apps.

NOTE: The study analyzed over 24 million Twitter photos posted during the week of Oct. 22.

The study notes that the actual percentage of photos uploaded to the micro-blogging service from Apple devices could be much higher ( as posts from the web or multi-platform apps like Tweetdeck and Echofon may also have come from iOS).

App wise break-up of photos posted on Twitter:

Twitter's official iPhone app______ 21 percent

iOS-only Instagram app__________13 percent

Twitter's BlackBerry app________12 percent

Twitter client for Android_________10 percent

Web posts______________17 percent (This will have share of Apple hand held devices too) ---------

Apple announces the numbers for Jan-Mar 2011 quarter
Apple has disclosed its numbers for the first quarter of this year, January-March 2011, here is the brief summary,

Q1 2011 profit __________$5.99bn

Notably, this is almost double of what it made in the same quarter last year, i.e. Q1 2010. In Jan-Mar 2010, Apple made a profit of $3.07bn. Sales and profits in the quarter are helped, after Verizon Wireless, America's second-biggest phone company, began selling the iPhone in February.

Q1 2011 revenue________ $24.7bn

This is 83pc more than the same quarter last year. In addition, this time around almost 60pc of these are coming from outside the US.

Notably, Customers snapped up 18.7m of them in the quarter, eclipsing the 16.3m expected by those on Wall Street who track the company.

However, Apple's forecast for the current quarter of $23bn in sales and profits of $5.03 a share came in below analysts' expectations.

One area which has not performed according to the analyst expectations is the number of iPads sold. In the quarter under scrutiny, Apple sold 4.69m iPads compared with the 6.1m predicted by analysts. But analysts are not taking this too negatively; terming the low sales to the global supply chain in Japan, as well as the introduction of the iPad2.

The number of sales in the quarter for other iOS products are like this:

1) 3.8m Macs, an increase of 28pc on last year
2) 9.02m iPods, a decline of 17pc compared on same quarter last year ---------
