8 bank customers in India report some kind of Phishing attack daily

According to the studies of CERT-In, Symantec and Pricewaterhouse Coopers,

Annual growth in the number of cyber attacks(including viruses, worms and frauds):___________________________________over 15%


Share of spam mails in the total global e-mail traffic: 80%

In simple, 8 out of 10 emails that land in your email account are spam. The number is same for India as well.


57 out of 100 organizations in India experienced vulnerable systems in 2007.
This number for the year 2000 was 29 out of 100.


For the year 2001, only 1 out of 100 computers, in India was infected by a virus monthly.

This number has reached 17 in 2007.


Number of systems (computers or PCs) that get compromised and merged into Bots, per day: 350

[Bots are, malwares (also known as web robots), that run automated tasks on internet, like sending spam mails from network of computers, constituting of computers of unsuspecting PC users; thus making use of their system resources and bandwidth.]


On an average, about 8 bank customers in India report some kind of Phishing attack; daily.

And most of these reporting are source of actual financial frauds.
