Earlier this month according to Business Insider, FarmVille game developer and publisher Zynga is issuing shares at prices that place the total value of the company at around $4 billion.A valuation, which surprised many as the number of monthly active users on FarmVille has recently declined.
Whether Zynga is valued correctly or not, can be a matter of debate; but if Yahoo headed by a woman, makes Zynga its partner, then Zynga seems to have more positives and negatives (women are thought to be cautious buyers. On Wednesday, Yahoo announced a partnership with Zynga in which Zynga social networking games, such as FarmVille, will be available across Yahoo's online properties.
Only last month, Yahoo acquired Associated Content, an online publisher that offers articles and videos created by a network of freelancers.
Yahoo's recent buys and partnerships are a part of its initiative to keep modernizing its sites, which will continue until mid 2011, with better applications; so that the company can markedly increase the time spent by a user on its sites.
