The company said on Monday that its technology will be used to monitor and manage the energy use of some 200,000 businesses and homes in Abu Dhabi – a total of about 1.4 million customers.
Hara claims that Abu Dhabi will save $3 billion in costs over the next decade, forestalling the need to build several 500-megawatt natural gas-fired power plants.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though Hara, based in San Mateo, Calif., described it as a “multi-year, multi-million dollar” agreement.
