According to TechCrunch, Google apparently launched and then retracted a Google Latitude iPhone app earlier this week. The said iOS client for the location-tracking service popped up in the Japanese App Store for less than a day before Google pulled it back down. The app has not surfaced in any other country's app store, since then.
Latitude has been available as a web app on the iPhone for some time, but fearing a rejection, the native app was never submitted to Apple.
Taking into consideration, an official Google Voice app for iPhone , already on App Store; and the popping up of Latitude, it can be believed that Latitude, that is already been approved now, will be available soon in the US app store and around the world. Which will be awelcome entrant, because of its multitasking abilities.
