Beginning its iPhone 4 pre-registrations earlier this month, Airtel is going to become the first operator bringing iPhone4 to India.
Aircel has announced that it will be launching the iPhone 4 this Friday or May 27 2011 for both prepaid and postpaid customers. The iPhone 4 will retail at Rs 34,500 ($763) for the 16GB model and Rs 40,900 ($905) for the 32GB model.
However interestingly, the iPhone 4 from Aircel will follow a reverse-subsidized model; wherein a buyer will have to pay the iPhone price upfront, but will have the opportunity to recover its full cost (OR recover 100 per cent of their upfront iPhone cost) in terms of monthly credits over the next 2 years.
