Nokia launches two dual SIM phones in India: Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00

Dual SIM phones have been a hit with Indians, that’s why not even inexpensive phone makers but the established ones are launching dual sim devices in India. Yesterday, Nokia launched two dual SIM phones, Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00, in India.

Taking the utility of Dual sim futher, both the phones remember the settings for up to five different SIM cards. C2-00 also offers hot swap for SIM cards. The phones offer dual SIM and dual-standby, means you can always receive notification of calls and messages on each account -- rather than having to switch your SIM cards on and off. To remembering the settings for up to five separate SIM cards, the Nokia X1-01 also lets you give each SIM its own logo, music signature or ringtone.

But it’ll be wrong to see the phones just as any other dual sim phone. Both Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00 are very useful inexpensive phones that offer long battery life. Like the Nokia X1-01 gives up to 42 days standby time(when phone is not used) and 13 hours talk time or 36 hours if the user chooses to listen to music. The Nokia C2-00, claims to offers 19.2 days standby time, and 5.75 hours talk time.

Both the phones have built in Ovi Life Tools, which offers news, market prices, entertainment, health advice and education services.

Nokia X1-01





Nokia X1-01 can be called a music phone a big speaker on the back, the speaker Nokia claims is the loudest and clearest speaker they have ever produced.

Nokia X1-01 runs the Series 30 operating system.

Offering typical goodies, which lovers of dual sim phone demand, the phone offers support for up to 16GB of storage using the SD card. It offers an FM radio, an MP3 music player with dedicated music keys, 3.5mm jack (so you can connect any speaker), and a Torch. Display type of Nokia X1-01 is TFT, 56K Colors. This model lacks camera. The phone doesn't have internet access.

Nokia C2-00



The SIM card placement of C2-00 is one of its USPs. The easy placement allows for Easy Swap. One SIM card is stored internally, like a traditional phone. The second card is easily accessible through a slot in the side – This saves the user from the effort of opening or even switching the phone off to change SIMs.

Nokia C2-00 runs Series 40 operating system, offering some key advantages in the form of internet access, a web browser and Nokia Messaging for email. Connectivity options include GPRS, Bluetooth and USB.

Nokia C2-00 comes with a VGA camera and allows for MMS messaging. The storage can be extended up to 32GB using an SD card.

Price and Availability: Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00 will start selling within this quarter i.e. by end june. The price of Nokia X1-01 will be approximately Rs 2,300. The price of Nokia C2-00 is likely to be around Rs 3,000. --------
