Remember the HTC Chacha, the Facebook phone with a dedicated Facebook button, which HTC unveiled in February this year?
Well, the phone has finally been announced! Where? Where else! But at Facebook.
AT&T today announced the Chacha, but with a new name -- HTC Status. The first device with a dedicated Facebook button will be launching on the network this summer. The announcement was made at Facebook and HTC launched a new Facebook Page just for HTC Status.
What HTC Status offers?
HTC Status lets a user share music, photos, location, and status updates via the dedicated Facebook button. Just press the Facebook button from home screen to instantly post on your wall. The Facebook button is the one touch solution to everything – from instantly sharing taken photograph or shot video to checking ones’ location with Facebook Places. Even more, the button press can search Google instantly, and even share any link quickly. A user can even share the music track he/she is listening via the Facebook button as well.
That apart, the HTC Status also features a chat widget which allows a user to see when his/her friends are online. The user can chat with as many friends as possible, all right from the device. In addition, everytime the user receives or makes a call, he/she is shown the friend’s profile picture and latest status update on the call screen; along with ‘dare not forget events like the friend’s b’day.
