Karbonn has launched A1, its first Android phone in India. The phone is very similar (Design wise, spec-wise, price-wise) to Micromax Andro A60 but has a capacitive touch screen. Other aspect which differentiates Karbonn A1 from Micromax A60 is that A60 runs Android 2.1 and therefore supports WiFi Hotspot and ability to store application in external memory.

Karbonn is expecting its smartphones sales to contribute about 10% to their total volume target. Company also plans to launch 3 more Android smartphone each targeted at a specific target groups like business executive, student or housewife.
