Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet launched: Thinner and better than the predecessor

Some of the owners of the original Samsung Galaxy Tab, may definitely be looking for some upgrading opportunity.

They now can. Samsung has just unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 at IFA. The company claims that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be the world’s first mobile tablet, sporting a Super AMOLED Plus display. That apart, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be thinner than its predecessor. The tablet is 7.89mm thick and weighs 335grams.

Below are the key specifications of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7:

1) 1.4GHz dual-core processor

2) 7.7″ Super AMOLED Plus display with a WXGA resolution of 1280×800 px

3) Android Honeycomb 3.2. Will be having Samsung’s TouchWiz UX with a Live Panel menu that will allow you to customize your home screen with digital picture.

4) A 3MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front facing camera.

5) A microSD card slot to extend the storage further up to 32GB

6) 1080p Full HD video playback

7) A 5100 mAh battery that provides up to 10 hours of video playback time.

8) Likely Support for 4G LTE and HSPA+ 21Mbps connectivity on the tablet.

9) Supports both voice and video calls without the need for an additional headset or Bluetooth.

The tablet is made for enhancing videos and movies viewing experience. The device supports 1080p Full HD playback. It will also feature Universal Remote Control functionality, which will allows a user to connect to a variety of devices such as Blu-ray players, television sets, set-top boxes, DVD players and AV audio system.

Not to leave the music lovers behind, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will also provide access to Samsung’s Music Hub service which the company claims offers over 15 million songs previewed or downloaded for a subscription fee.



Price and Availability: The Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet will be available in 3 versions – 16GB/32GB/64GB ( all supporting a microSD card slot that will support to up 32GB). Pricing and availability have yet to be announced. --------
