Is Amazon up to a larger version of its Kindle Fire tablet?
According to Digitimes, this may be true. DT claims that Foxconn has won the contract for a new 10-inch Fire. Amazon is expected to begin shipping the devices in the second quarter of 2012.
Interestingly, the DT’s claims are backed by recent reports from China Times and Pacific Crest analyst Chad Bartley, who both claim that Amazon’s got a bigger Fire for the world.
Why a larger Fire now?
May be Amazon is not too convinced with current Kindle Fire’s 7-inch form factor (which late Steve Jobs reminded Amazon of back in 2010). Another possible reason can be, Amazon’s desire to compete with Apple at the size of iPad.
