Google makes 5 Changes to Google+ Look and Working

Google+ has not been that successful, as Google has earlier anticipated, even when the social network now boasts 170 million subscribers (But seasoned marketers are using Google+ to their advantage. As a blogger, I have also seen traffic from Google+).

To summarise, Google+ is not capable of bringing that Happening factor which rival Facebook boasts. In addition, Google+ always looks cluttered, as if wanting a bit more space; when it’s actually placing lesser things on its layout than rival Facebook.

Anyways, in an attempt to compete with Facebook in real terms; Google+ has made a few changes to its look and working. The idea is to give more engaging experience to the user. Below are the changes you would notice:

1) Instead of static icons at the top, the redesign swings them to the left side of the main screen, where users can drag apps up or down to create the order they want and hover over certain apps to reveal a set of quick actions. Users can also show or hide apps by moving them in and out of “More.”

2) Giving a major facelift to the Hangouts feature -- which uses live video to bring people together. Google added a dedicated Hangouts page that creates more opportunities to connect in person, including an updated list of invitations from the people in your circles, access to every public and On Air hangout for those times when you want to meet someone new, or the ability to watch a live broadcast and a rotating billboard of popular hangouts, pro tips and other items.

3) conversations capabilities Updates: The capability now offers full- photos and videos, a stream of conversation "cards" that make it easier to scan and join discussions, and an activity drawer that highlights the community around the content.

4) There's a new Explore page that shows what's interesting and trending across the network, and a new profile with much bigger photos.

5) A new chat list puts friends more front and center.
