iBuyPower SBX PC gaming console with Steam OS at $399 | Available for Preorder

iBuyPower's SBX gaming console, is one of the few gaming machines, powered by its Steam OS, that has the potential to challenge the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for gaming supremacy wars in gamer's Den.

The SBX gaming console unveiled with much fanfare at CES back in January 2014, are available for preorder now. The SBX gaming console doubles as an entertainment system.

Hopefully, Value has also perfected its Steam OS platform. The manufacturers of Steam Machines can now rejoice. many manufacturers are already rolling out dual OS Windows and Steam OS systems. Recent launches are Alienware's Alpha console and CyberPower PC subsidiary Syber's Vapor Xtreme PC.

SBX PC Gaming Console and Home entertainment System

Resembles home theater equipment rather than a traditional PC box. It can include a gaming controller and has Windows pre-installed.

SBX PC gaming console is currently available for preorder in four options. All feature built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi to allow you stream gaming data.

The gaming PC starts at $399, and is named SBX Raw. It is just basics, with no controller included or OS installed. It has an AMD Athlon 740 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, and AMD Radeon R7 250X graphics card. For $60 more, you can grab the same configuration but with an Xbox 360 controller added. Shell out money $549, and the gamer can get the SBX and controller with Windows 8.1 installed.

Finally, for $100 more than that option, the SBX Plus Edition , has double RAM (8GB ) and hard drive space (1000 GB or 1TB).

Regarding the SBX Plus Edition, the rivals with Steam OS machines are offering better specs at that price point.
