A third of Office goers check their e-mails during meetings: Study

By A Bisht

One form of poor office etiquette is to pay more attention to a hand-held device than to a conversation or business meeting. The studies conducted by Yahoo! HotJobs, quoted here, give some numbers regarding this:

According to a poll conducted in march by Yahoo! HotJobs,

A third of more than 5,000 respondents admitted that they often check their e-mails during meetings.

Another Yahoo! HotJobs research, revealed that

20 percent of the respondents said they had been reprimanded for using their wireless devices during important conversation or business meeting. Yet even those who Complain bitterly against such a behaviour admit to their weakness.

The study finds this behaviour counter productive. --------
