The market for power management semiconductors [the tiny chips which optimise power usage, and could be used in a wide variety of technology, helping to improve the power efficiency of solar panels, digital TVs or indeed smartphones (which need all the battery life augmentation they can get with their increasingly sophisticated builds)]
is around $31 billion in 2010, according to analysts iSuppli, which is up 40% compared to 2009. That market is going to double to $62 billion by 2014.
