Google launches Desktop Notifications for Chrome users

Google has made a simple yet effective addition to Chrome browser. It has introduced desktop notifications for emails and chat messages which ensure that Google chrome browser users are notified of new emails or pings from Gmail and GTalk without actually visiting one’s Gmail account.

How To Activate Desktop Notifications?

Step1: Go to “Settings” Options in your Gmail account
Step2: Scroll down to “Desktop Notifications” section and activate it

A user can customize it based on his/her requirements, like whether he/she wants notification from priority inbox or whole Gmail account.

Compatibility: At present, the feature is available to Chrome browser users only. So you must be using Google's Chrome browser to use the service. With efforts on to bring notifications on standard web platforms as well. --------
