Some time ago, a person created a world map showing the Friendship connections between cities of the world; This time Daniel Huffman filtered 1.5 million tweets from March and April 2010 and mapped the rate of profanity across America.
Using the same representations that are used in modern day maps; the darker regions on the map represent those US regions where people use more profanity (swearing, abusing with an intention to make the other person feel bad); the less darker regions show a transition towards a polite communication.
