GSM Subscriber base in India has surpassed the 555 million or 55.5 crore in February 2011.
Indian GSM telecom operators added 14.7 million or 1.47 crore new subscribers in February, lifting the all-India cellular subscriber base above 555 million, according to the data released by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
The total customer base using GSM mobile service in India has jumped to 555.06 million from 540.37 million in January, COAI said.
Note: The numbers, however, do not include additions by Tata Docomo, the GSM services of Tata Teleservices, and Reliance Telecom. Reliance Telecom had a subscriber base of 23.87 million or 2.38 crore at the end of January 2011.
