HP To Launch WebOS Powered Touchpad In Two Versions

Hewlett-Packard announced that the Wi-Fi version of its HP Touchpad will be available in U.S. stores on July 1. The Touchpad is HP's first webOS-powered tablet. HP acquired the webOS mobile operating system when it bought Palm last year. The tablet will be available in 16GB or 32GB for $499.99 and $599.99, respectively. HP will start taking pre-orders in North America and Europe on June 19.

With the help of webOS, HP TouchPad users can truly enjoy a true multitasking experience.  They can access the web, get audio playback with stereo speakers and Beats Audio technology.  They can also find information on the tablet or in the cloud using a new feature called Just Type.

The tablet will also offer integrated access to the user's information with HP Synergy, and HP's exclusive Touch to Share capability for sharing web addresses between HP TouchPad and compatible webOS phones. HP is planning to partner with AT&T to launch a connected version of HP TouchPad later this summer.
