HTC Radar unveiled in India with a Rs 24000 Price Tag

With a Windows phone 7.5 aka ‘Mango’ OS phone, HTC Titan, going to be launched in India post Diwali; and only other ‘Mango’ phone in India, the Samsung Omnia W i8350, already unveiled; another mango phone to have already arrived in the country is the HTC Radar.

Launched in India, only yesterday, the HTC Radar runs on the most recent version of Windows Phone OS, the Windows Phone 7.5, code-named Mango. The latest OS claims to have additional over 500 new features. Some notably additions are : Custom ringtones, visual voicemail, new speech commands, Linked inboxes, conversation view in email, multitasking, video sharing, picture tagging, Smart DJ and sync with SkyDrive.

Another noteworthy feature added, named, All Windows Phones, gives users the ability to use any web browser to log in to and locate their lost phone on a map, have it sound the ringer, lock it, or wipe it.

HTC Radar Specs:

1) Phone size: It comes in at 4.7 by 2.4 by 0.4 inches
2) Has a 3.8-inch LCD touch screen display, with 480 x 800 resolution.
3) Powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor (1 Ghz is the minimum requirement for Microsoft's Windows phone 7 OS).
4) Runs Windows Phone 7.5 OS, codenamed Mango
5) 512 MB RAM
6) A 5-megapixel camera. A dedicated camera button provides easy access even if the smartphone is locked.
7) VGA front camera
8) 8GB of internal memory (20 percent of which will be occupied by the Windows Phone 7.5 OS)
9) Connectivity options include: 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1
10) 1520 mAh non-removable battery, offering up to 10 hours of talktime on GSM and up to 8 hours on 3G.

What difference will you notice, if you have used Windows phone 7 phone earlier:

The conventional application icons have been replaced by Live Tiles on the Windows Phone start screen. The Live Tiles become active with real-time updates from the Web such as news, appointments or the status of friends. Courtesy Hubs (include, People, Pictures, Games, Music & Video, MarketPlace and Office), the integrated experiences are achieved which bring together related content into a single view to make common tasks effortless.

The Windows Phone 7.5, also marks the debut of Microsoft's Web Marketplace in India. Web marketplace gives the Windows Phone users the opportunity to hunt for apps online just like Android and iOS users.
