Samsung Galaxy S3 probable specs and features, release Date

There’s much talk about Samsung Galaxy S3, for two reasons: 1) It is expected to have a Quadcore processor 2) it’s everything awesome about it, like a 12 megapixel camera. In short, the Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone is the next-generation phone in true sense.

Below are the specs of Samsung Galaxy S3, courtesy various sources (Samsung has yet to make the official announcement for S3):

Runs on a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 processor, compatible with 4G LTE, and sports a 4.8- inch screen with full HD 1080p resolution (claims Boy Genius site).

Other specs, truly speculative in nature:

• 5″ 1280×720 Super AMOLED Plus display (or the display will be nearer to the 5-inch scale, giving support to 4.8 inch display size).

• the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system (it’s more or less certain)

• 9mm thick body

• 8 megapixel main camera with LED and Xenon flash

• 2 megapixel front-facing camera

• 32 or 64 GB of internal memory

• USB 3.0 capability

• 4G LTE right off the bat

• 1.5GHz Quadcore Samsung Exynos CPU

• Touchwhiz 5.0 overlay

• Expected to come with a S5K2P1 chip, it will be able to capture 60fps HD video and 8.3 megapixel images.

Release Date or Availability: The closest release date for Samsung Galaxy S3 being speculated is March 13 2012; when the phone will be launched at an event in Turkey. If the date passes with no such event, then one can believe Samsung, which had earlier said that Galaxy S3 will be launched around mid 2012. May be that way Samsung could use the Summer Olympics in London as a platform to advertise the new phone, which could result in the phone being released after the games.
