Late Apple Founder & CEO, Steve Jobs was against a smaller tablet. He publicly criticized tablets with smaller form factor. But the current CEO Tim Cooks is not holding any such views.
And as a result, a smaller iPad or iPad Mini from Apple Stable, could be in many consumers' hands on November 2, the day on which the sales of iPad mini will begin (courtesy rumors).
Notably, Apple has already announced and sent out invitations for a media event on October 23 (So commencement of sales after 10 days, November 2, looks believable)
If rumors so far are to be believed, the new iPad, being called iPad Mini, will have a a 7.8-inch display; and will be priced as low as US$249.
