Tablet manufacturers have already started spoiling the Indian tablet buyer. Yesterday Motorola officially launched the Xoom Android tablet in India; and Asus Eee Pad Tansformer is reportedly slated for an end July arrival.

Xoom buyers will have option to buy both the 3G and the Wi-Fi-only versions. Both come with Android Honeycomb, 32GB of on-board memory, a 10.1 inch multi-touch display, A-GPS, dual-core 1GHz processor, and two cameras (rear and front-facing).

How Xoom compares with Apple iPad 2:

Price: The Xoom 3G has a price tag of about 40,000 INR ($890), while the Xoom Wi-Fi has 32,000 INR ($700). Although no word is out on Indian pricing yet, it’s expected that an Indian will have to shell out rupees 20,000 for Wi-Fi 16GB version. ---------

After previewing, probably the thinnest and lightest tablet in its form factor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 in Germany; Samsung today showcased Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 in Russia as well.

The Russia unveiling was even more alluring for typing enthusiasts as it was unveiled with a brand new keyboard dock. The stylish white chiclet-style full-QWERTY dock has an opening where the tablet slides in at a slight angle for comfortable viewing.

Similar keyboard dock is available for its Samsung Galaxy Tab 7-inch as well, for a price of $79.99 at the Samsung Marketplace.

Nothing is revealed regarding the showcased keyboard dock though.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 runs HoneyComb; and has a dual core processor. The new super sleek Galaxy Tab lineup will also bring the latest tablet-optimized version of TouchWiz. ---------

On Friday, Taiwan-based Acer Inc, the world's second-largest PC maker, announced in China its first tablet, the Acer Iconia Tab A500, powered by the latest Android 3.0 OR Honeycomb operating system.

Pitched as an Apple's iPad competitor, given its specifications and price, the tablet is expected to hit the the Chinese mainland in mid-May.

Price: The 16-gigabyte version the tablet will sell at 3,299 yuan ($505.00), and the 32-gigabyte version for 3,499 yuan ($535.61).

The company plans to take iPad on Price and operating system. Notable research firm iSupply Corp agrees with the company on the price point. The price of the 32-gigabyte iPad starts at 3,688 yuan ($564.55) for the Chinese market. Although iPad2 is not launched in China yet, the second iteration of Apple’s iconic iPad is expected to sell at the same price it is sold in US, i.e. at least $599.

Notably, Motorola has also released a tablet for the Chinese market at the end of March, with similar performance to Acer's new tablet, but selling the 32-gigabyte model for 4,999 yuan ($765.23).

Sales Forecast: Analysts expect the new tablet to reach 80,000 units in the Chinese mainland market within two months of its release. With them expecting it to eat into the Android Tablet market, with Apple's iPad retaining a dominant position at least this year.

Acer has already announced the price and availability of the tablet in US. Upfor pre-orders at Best Buy, since 8th April 2011, and expected to start shipping from April 24, the 16 GB Iconia Tab A500 WiFi is priced at $449.99. This model has a 16GB of internal storage, WiFi but no 3G, and battery life of up to 8hrs.

Specs: Over all, Iconia A500 is equipped with the dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 250 1GHz processor -- the first mobile dual core processor; and an integrated GeForce™ GPU (Graphics processing Unit) that lets a user enjoy HD gaming, 1080p video and faster browsing, as well as running multiple applications and digital media playback at the same time. The tablet is equipped with a 10.1 inch multi-touch display, 2WiFi a/b/g/n and twin cameras– 2-megapixels up front and 5-megapixels on the back. There’s also HDMI, a microSD card slot, six-axis gyroscope and the promise of a 32GB version down the line.

Acer Iconia A500 is created in aluminum and weighs only 1.69 pounds and measures only 0.52-inches thin. ---------

Toshiba today announced the pricing of its upcoming Android 3.0 or “Honeycomb” tablet, Toshiba ANT.

Toshiba will sell the 8GB Toshiba ANT-100 for $450, the 16GB Toshiba ANT-102 for $500 and the 32GB Toshiba ANT-104 for $580.

Here is quick look at its specs:

LG and US- mobile operator T-Mobile have unveiled the First in the series of G-series devices, 4G-enabled G-Slate tablet powered with Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb, an Android platform perfectly optimized for tablet use.

Specs:

1) Powered with NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor

2) 8.9-inch High Definition 3D-capable multi-touch display. To experience 3D graphics requires 3D glasses

3) Supports T-Mobile's HSPA+ network for video chats, TV streaming, and gaming

4) Full Adobe Flash Player support

5) Has a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera for video chats. The rear camera with 1080 pixel resolution offers 3D and full HD video recording capabilities, and also supports 720p HD on-device video playback and HDMI output to show 1080p content on 3D and HD displays

Not running perfectly, but a person named @deeper-blue has posted photos and video, put below, of Android 3.0 or Honeycomb running on a Nook Color.

According to @deeper-blue although he has enabled touch screen support; but the experience is still quite slow. He plans to enable graphics acceleration next, to speed up the interface significantly.
