Foxconn busy making New-Generation Automated Robots. Bottlenecks in key technologies will be removed, once humans are removed from Assembly lines.

Foxconn busy making New-Generation Automated Robots
Foxconn, the world's leading manufacturer of computer components and systems (Manufacturer for Tech Giant Apple), ventured out on its own a couple of months ago. Now the Chinese manufacturer is busy contemplating the path it has to tread in coming years. One Area it has already chosen for itself are the New-Generation Automated Robots. Interestingly, Foxconn is developing new-generation robots for the purpose of automation on its product lines. The development is seen by many as Foxconn breaking through the bottleneck in key technologies. Foxconn's goal of building a million automation robots is going to be achieved shortly, around October this year (yes, next month).

Foxconn will not exit the manufacturing industry in spite of knowing the fact that many IT players have started giving up their manufacturing businesses. Since manufacturing will eventually turn heavily dependent on automation and robots, Foxconn in the future, will place its focus on R&D and technologies as well as e-commerce.

Foxconn has also been investing in nanometer technologies and through long-term R&D and the acquisition of related patents, Foxconn to become the leader of the industry in 3-5 years. ---------

Foxconn Pegatronn January-April 2013 Numbers Comparison
The world is comparing the numbers of Foxconn and Pegatron for a reason. Pegatron, a Taiwan based LCD manufacturer, just like Foxconn; is gaining the Apple orders which Foxconn is losing. The two companies are distant apart in terms of revenue numbers; but the comparison is necessary as it tells how Foxconn feels about itself now. Foxconn is seen as the one behind Apple's iPhone and iPad success. Apple managed to sell the iconic devices at that price only because Foxconn was the manufacturer. That said, Foxconn now wants to build its own brand, rather than be seen as some manufacturer for Apple. In this direction, Foxconn bought a 10 percent share in Sharp Corp. Although Sharp Corp is under heavy loss, Foxconn's move is in line with its assertive plans, as Sharp's LCD technology still is among the best in the world. May be Foxconn moving out of Apple's shadow may prove good for Foxconn; the same way it proved good for another manufacturer for Apple - the Samsung.

Foxconn, world's leading manufacturer of computer components and systems, reported that Foxconn saw April consolidated revenues of NT$291.759 billion (US$9.82 billion) increasing on month by 12.05%, while Pegatron Technology reported revenues of NT$65.404 billion up 1.27%, according to the companies.

The sequential growth in April consolidated revenues was mainly due to significant growth in Foxconn's consumer electronics device shipments and Foxconn International Holdings', Foxconn's subsidiary handset ODM, shipments of smartphones, local market analysts indicated.

However, Foxconn's April consolidated revenues decreased on year by 5.08% and Pegatron's by 2.77%.

Foxconn brought in consolidated revenues of NT$1.101 trillion for January-April, dropping on year by 15.89%, while Pegatron's January-April consolidated revenues of NT$286.721 billion grew 20%.
