Google Buys Communications Technology Patent Package From Foxconn

Search Giant Google has purchased a patent package from Foxconn, the world's leading manufacturer of computer components and systems. The sale of a patent package to Google took place through US-based MiiCs & Partners. The patents concern the design, production and testing of communications systems. How much Google paid for Foxconn's patent package is not known.

Foxconn indicated that it will commission MiiCs & Partners to provide consulting services for intellectual property management and patent commercialization. Foxconn has so far applied for about 128,400 patents around the world and has obtained about 64,300. Foxconn is also popular as Apple's contract manufacturer.
