All you have to do is Amazon’s homepage and click to register for an invitation. If you’re chosen, which will happen before June 12, 2014, then you’ll be able to travel to Amazon in Seattle, USA and see this new phone for yourself.

The anticipation for Amazon smartphone is not misplaced particularly after the ambitions of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and the success of the Amazon's Fire-branded Android devices -- Amazon Fire TV, the Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet. The Amazon eBook Reader is always there. All Amazon needs to make best use of its app ecosystem, Amazon Appstore for Android, and Android Appstore, is a smartphone.

The new Amazon smartphone will be an Android phone, There's not much known about the Use Interface. That's what Amazon has created to sit above the Google Android OS.

According to some rumours out there, the new amazon smartphone experience moves with the user. Apparently, there are sensors on the front of the phone that delivers a 3D experience of some kind. How and what, is not known right now. But since amazon is entering the smartphone market rather late, hence it can be assumed that the UI will be different from what competitors have rolled out so far. Sony has always remained in the limelight for launching new mobiles into the market. The handsets are known to be considered as beauty with the brains because of their smart and sleek, compact and stylish designs. This is possible because of Adreno GPU which is installed in most of Sony’s android mobiles.

Design: The mobile is designed in such a way that fits into your palm. The exterior of the mobile has smooth finish and display glass is the only polished surface visible. It is quite evocative of Xperia Sola which is a good thing. The weight of mobile is 110 gm which is quite lighter.

Processor: It has 1 GHz Cortex-A9 Dual Core Processor backed by 512 MB RAM that makes the thing smooth. It runs on Android GingerBread and not on IceCream Sandwich, which is disgusting, but not disastorous, as upgrade is promised.

The major USP of this product is it is water resistant and dustproof.

Camera: Xperia brags having a 5 megapixel camera with single LED light. The mobile is competent of HD video recording at 720p.

Storage: The Xperia Go can carry the music collection, videos and images with an internal memory of 8 GB. The expandable memory is up to 32 GB.

Connectivity: This mobile can allow the user to access their e mail using inbuilt Adobe Flash 11 player. With 2G network internet connectivity can be accessed through GPRS and EDGE technology. The device is WiFi proficient as well and user can connect to internet via local wireless network in range. Data can be exchanged through micro USB port which is capable of tethering to other devices. The user can also use radio FM inbuilt for leisure time. Google Maps is another interesting option on the phone. Networking sites and office suite is also preinstalled in the mobile.

Battery: The mobile has a Li-Ion battery and assures to give the owner 6 hours of talk time if used in 2G network. On 3G, the battery lasts for 5 hours.

Sony Xperia Neo L is an Android enabled Smartphone that provides true entertainment on the first go. The phone is giving neck to neck competition to HTC One V and LG Optimus 7.

Here are some of the scintillating features of the product

Pros

It scores well in terms of look and design.
It runs on latest operating System
The phone comes with long battery life.

Cons

It has very limited codec support.
It does not have FM radio.
It suffers from the problem of proximity sensors

Hardware/Design- The Smartphone seems to have been built on the similar lines of thought as Neo and Neo V. It has 4 inch display and it weighs 131.5 gm. The phone is not feather light. It comes in two shades black and white.

It has 4 physical buttons that is bit difficult to operate. It would have been better if there was capacitive touch screen interface.

Another downfall of this product is the placement of power/wake button that is situated right along with volume rocker.

It has 3.5mm headphone with microUSB connectivity for data transfer.

In the nutshell, Sony Xperia Neo L does have attractive design but there is always a room for improvement.

Display- This Smartphone boasts of large 4″ FWVGA display. It has curved back and glossy finish and Sony’s xLoud™ audio technology

The let down of is this phone is, it doesn’t work optimally at the maximum brightness level. Even you are unable to view screen elements in the broad daylight. Its competitors like HTC One V and Optimus L7 produces crisp images.

Software- The Smartphone runs on Android 4.0 Icecream Sandwich and it features Timescape UI with which you can manage your social networks easily.

The apps can be arranged according to your whims and wishes like alphabetical, most used, recently installed and own order.

The recently added feature Overview provides you pinch to zoom functionality. The mediascape widget has died the slow death but the standard gallery is still there.

It features 1GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. The user interface works smooth most of the times.

Camera- It features 5 megapixels rear camera and the outdoor images are crisp and sharp. The major downfall of the camera is the option of zoom and auto focus doesn’t work well.

Battery/Performance- It has 1500mAH long lasting battery that provides talktime of eight hours and standby time of 575 hours. If you are an average Joe who like to surf internet on moderate basis or likes to listen music then don’t worry the battery can last for the whole day.

Verdict- It is a right blend of beauty and brains. Fast and smooth user interface backed with good battery life and ICS on board.

But it has its own set of flaws like the phone doesn’t score well with respect to camera and if Sony has added feature of Playstation the phone must have become better.
