Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Tablet : $700 for this Rugged Hunk?

Samsung took design advice from Fortune 500 Companies in 12 sectors, to create Samsung Galaxy Tab Active water resistant, robust tablet with features every enterprise customer will want.

What type of users want a robust device? The enterprise customers. To lure that target customers, Samsung has opened pre-orders for the new eight-inch Galaxy Tab Active. The Galaxy Tab Active is a rugged, water-resistant slate designed with input from Fortune 500 companies.

The Samsung Tab Active Water proof tablet is now up for pre orders in the US. The World's biggest and most buying eager enterprise market. The Samsung Tab Active tablet, which comes with anti-shock casing and is designed for field-use, has been built with IP67 dust and water resistant certification that Samsung first included in the Galaxy S5. Although the Tab Active tablet's chunky protective casing , which aims at protecting the device against up to 1.2 metres falls, will never have come with that casing, if Samsung were Apple. The Tab has been certified for Citrix and SAP applications with more ISV certifications in the pipeline, according to Samsung.

Both Samsung and Apple are eyeing the massive enterprise market for their tablets. Compared to Samsung, Apple is far less upfront in asking design inputs. may be that will make things different fro Samsung. China manufactured low cost tablets, which have reached a level of decent user experience, have cut on the tablet markets of the two Giants as well.

Only recently, Samsung indicated to a weak quarter due to a slump in smartphone profits.

What Galaxy Tab Active Tablet Lacks ?

The Galaxy Active Tab lacks the fingerprint reader for authentication. Which is a kind of a surprise. But Samsung has designed Tab Active as an entrant to the enterprise market. Notably, Samsung brought across the fingerprint reader for authentication from the Galaxy S5 to the Tab S range — again, aimed at the enterprise.

Availability of Samsung Galaxy Tab Active

The tablet will cost $700. Colour option is one: Black. Samsung expects to ship the device at the end of October.

Is it Easy to accidently drop an iPad? ... Will it survive such a Fall?
iPad Air Fails the Drop Test

Every time I handle an iPad 3, it feels fragile. As if, if accidently dropped it will shatter into pieces. Don't know, whether it's the delicate aesthetics of the iPad is that fragile. That's why I always wanted to know how strong is ipad. Obviously, for a small blogger like me, it's unimaginable to do the drop test.

I believe, many other iPad owners may also feel the same about their Apple tablet.

Apple iPad Air is the latest tablet from Cupertino company.

Apple iPad Air is thinner and lighter, than its predecessors. Is it durable too ?

Richard Ryan who puts products to the durability test” by performing drop tests and firing guns at them on his YouTube channel, RatedRR; performed the same tests on the iPad Air. The shooting test is unnecessary for us, as we're not going to shoot a bullet at our iPads; but sadly ipad Air didn't even survive the drop test. When dropped from the height of few feet, on relatively soft dirt as opposed to a hard concrete floor, the  iPad Air shattered.

How easy it's to accidently drop an iPad ?

Fortunately I never dropped my iPad. But then, I usually don't drop my gadgets. That apart, I find my iPad 3 easy to hold in my left hand. I mean, the design seems to be assisting the secure holding. What do you feel about Apple devices, are they fragile? and how easy it's to accidentally drop them? ---------
