Marketing method retailers will discard first and last

We often hear, people speak -- "retail businesses spend this much on Television advertising; that much in print advertising; or so and so medium of advertisement/marketing is going to be dumped soon; and so on..".

So all this talk establishes one important principle, businesses like people stop using less effective methods and move on to better ones.

A survey conducted by an American marketing firm, about which advertising/marketing methods will be discarded by the retail businesses first and which last, reflected the public opinion well.

The results:

Yellow pages/Directories (Are going to be discarded first) :(

Telemarketing/marketing by phone

Radio

Magazines

Affiliate marketing

TV

Direct mail

Online Display Advertising

Social computing/networking/word-of-mouth

Search

Email (Is going to stay much longer; and will be discarded last by retail businesses) :)
