Indian Govt gives Blackberry August 31 deadline

Indian Government has given RIM, the makers of blackberry, the 31 August 31 deadline to give authorities the means(technology) to read email and instant messages sent over the BlackBerry. Failing to which will threaten RIM's future in the world's fastest-growing telecoms market.

Tata Teleservices and another mobile provider selling Blackberries in the country, have confirmed receiving a letter-- asking them to ensure that legal intervention capability is put in place for BlackBerry services by 31 August 2010, from the Government.

Lets hope one among the two parties accedes to the other for the sake of Blackberry users in the country. --------
