After bettering itself on major mobile platforms – iPhone, Blackberry and Android in the past four months, twitter has seen a big growth surge in its total mobile users (those who log in to twitter using their mobile devices).
Total mobile users has jumped 62 percent since mid-April, and currently, 16 percent of all new users to Twitter start on mobile now, as opposed to the five percent, before the micro-blogging platform launched its own mobile client.
Twitter considers its own mobile clients primarily responsible for the above numbers. In twitter’s own words, these clients are bringing more people into Twitter, and, even better, they are attracting and retaining active users. Indeed, 46 percent of active users make mobile a regular part of their Twitter experience.
